First Redeemer Church is committed to the Bible as God’s inspired Word, and believes it is necessary to live out the abundant life God intends for His children.

In an effort to expand our commitment to God’s Word, we are launching a new Bible Study called Greater Than Gold.

We often hear in sports and business that to be successful, you have to stay committed to the basics and continually work on the fundamentals.  As Christ’s disciples, we have to be committed to the basics and the fundamentals.  Being committed to studying and learning God’s Word is essential and fundamental to our growth as His followers.

FAQ

Below are questions and answers that will hopefully encourage you to get started in going through one of the Greater Than Gold Bible studies either individually or in a small group.

How do I sign up for a Greater Than Gold Bible study?

On this page, you can see samples of the Bible studies currently being offered.  You can register by clicking here. When you sign up and provide your information, we will send you (generally within a day of signing up) a PDF of the entire Bible study along with the answer key for each study.

Who is Greater Than Gold for?

Greater Than Gold is for the mature Christian and the new Christian who wants to grow in their understanding of the Bible.

Greater Than Gold is an excellent tool for a person who is not even a Christian but wants to know more about what God’s Word teaches.

What age groups is Greater Than Gold geared toward?

Any age, from children to older adults, will benefit from going through one of the Bible studies.

How long does it take to complete a Greater Than Gold Bible study?

There isn’t a time frame, as you will work at your own pace or the pace of your group.  Some who are in a group may decide to meet weekly or twice a month, but again, it is self-paced and doesn’t have a beginning or ending date.

What is the format for each Greater Than Gold Bible study?

There are studies for all 66 books of the Bible, and a few that are topical like an Introduction to the Christian Life or Christian Living.  See below where you can sign up for a Bible study and view a sample of what each study looks like.  There is a question, and the answer is found in the verse with the question.  Each study also has an answer key.

When you complete a study (ex. – Gospel of John), you will have studied and answered questions for each chapter within that specific book of the Bible.

Are the Greater Than Gold Bible studies for individual study, one-on-one, small groups or large groups?

All of the above – Because the format of the Bible studies are so simple they can be done by yourself or in any group setting. It has been exciting to have groups that have met at offices, with neighbors and those who have been in previous small groups together.  You can meet whenever and wherever is convenient for you and your group, or you can study on your own, at your own pace.

What if I don’t finish the Greater Than Gold Bible study?

Because each study is self-paced, you can start and stop whenever you desire.  To help keep you motivated, each week, you will receive an email that will hopefully be not only informational but inspirational about the value of studying and being in God’s Word.

What happens when I finish a study?

Hopefully, you will desire to continue  with another study.  Also, once a quarter, we will have a short ceremony with our senior pastor, Dr. Jeff Jackson, for those who have completed a study.  Pastor Jeff will present each person who completes a study with a certificate of completion.
